well, i am now back in Mexico so i decided i should write on here again. i had a few people ask me to write in my blog because they missed hearing about stuff, i don't know why, lol.
I came back down here on Sunday the 17th after church at Sandals along with my friends jeff, jay and Justin. it was nice day, because a few friends stopped by to say good bye to me before i left.
Well, i met up with Johannes and Kelly in san diego to watch the chargers game, too bad they lost. After the game we grabbed a bite to eat and went to Flood church in san diego. The message was really good, joel spoke about how to pray and how its responding to God. If we only take and take, we are not praying properly. I don't know how to explain it, but it was good.
The first day of class we discussed what was going to happen with this class, like how long it is and what it covers. Basically this class is a 15 week course but we are doing it in 15 days (yikes). The classes are not too long and interesting for the most part. Class starts at 9 but i still wish i was in bed at this time, so i drink multiple cups of coffee to insure that i stay awake. After class we had free time, the guys and i went to the beach to read and play chess at a local coffee shop. it was all good and fun until the storm knocked out the power.
The homework for the class is good but there is a lot of reading in it. sometimes just the reading takes about 3 hours, and then we have a chapter review to go over. i usually do the review as i read and then maybe finish the reading later. In the homework today, there was a comparison to the church and Jonah. Jonah was fleeing from what he was told to do. While fleeing on a ship God sent a storm, Jonah slept below deck oblivious that the storm was sent because of him. The comparison to the church, is that many people know that things are happening, but they are oblivious to the truth that they can put a stop to it by being obedient.
I have heard the story of Jonah and the great fish many times before as a child, and i even read it the other month, but i still didn't understand the point of the story. I see more now that Jonah didn't want to share about God because he was selfish. sometimes we find great things and hide them for ourselves like Jonah was doing. he didn't want God to save the people.
I had a good time doing the homework tonight. Rory and i decided to read outloud to eachother what we were reading. While reading, if we had a question, we would discuss in depth what was going on. Its good to be back hanging out with rory, and i just might have the chance to be on the road with him and one other cool guy this summer working with youth camps.
Well, that is all for now. talk or see you soon.
